Michael Crabtree was on pace to be a starter on many teams come this fall until he tore his ACL during the 49ers OTAs two months ago. The superstar WR was just recently placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list and will be out for until at least Week 6. While this may not be good news for him, it surprisingly could be great news for Fantasy Owners, let me explain why.
Right now, according to ESPN Fantasy Football, Michael Crabtree is only owned in 4.8% of leagues. Due to his injury I don't recommend drafting him; however, if you have an IR spot on your team, the first thing you should do after the draft is pick him up in Free Agency and place him on you IR. By doing this you'll not only gain a player who could rack you up big points later in the year, but you won't even have to release a player! If and when Michael Crabtree is activated I'd suggest waiting a week or two before putting him in your starting lineup. By doing this you'll see if he is back to his old self.
Having a player like Crabtree that you can easily pick up in Free Agency at the beginning of the year could be the difference between you winning your Fantasy league and loosing it.
